Sales Leads

Sales Leads

In writing about leads, it become necessary to come to the core meaning of that particular keyword to find the hidden meaning behind it.  I usually use resources like the Wikipedia Online Encyclopedia.  It contains a wealth of information on basically any keyword that you can imagine.  Let's dig deeper into the term sales lead to see if we can discern the meaning of that word.

"A sales lead is the identity of a person or entity potentially interested in purchasing a product or service, and represents the first stage of a sales process. The lead may have a corporation or business associated with the person(s). Sales leads come from either marketing lead generation processes such as trade shows, direct marketing, advertising, Internet marketing or from sales person prospecting activities such as cold calling. For a sales lead to qualify as a sales prospect (or equivalently to move a lead from the process step sales lead to the process sales prospect) qualification must be performed and evaluated. Typically this involves identifying by direct interrogation the lead's product applicability, availability of funding, time frame for purchase. This is also the entry point of a sales tunnel or funnel.  Once a qualified lead exists, additional operations may be performed such as background research on the lead's employer, the generally market of the lead, contact information beyond that provided initially or other information useful for contacting and evaluating a lead for elevation to prospect, the next sales step.  If a sales lead eventually makes a purchase, this is called conversion. The ratio of sales leads that convert is often referred to as the conversion rate, a way to measure the effectiveness of a sales process, sales team, or sales person.  Cinematic reference: the boiler-room salesmen in the movie Glengarry Glen Ross refer to wanting to get "the good leads" which will close more easily (result in closed sales, i.e. a financial transaction)."

In considering generating sales leads for an online project of some type, it would be necessary to learn specific techniques for gaining notoriety on Google, Yahoo, MSN and the other major search engines for your lead capture page.  When people find those pages, see the value in what you are offering, they have just become a sales lead.  Now that does not mean that the person is eagerly awaiting your phone call to join your program.  As a matter of fact, most of the time this is certainly not the case.  This is precisely why I contend that buying leads is like throwing good money out the window.  The people who signed for the splash page, and received their free ebook, or whatever, are simply after the free stuff.  They are not the willing and ready to signup for anything you have, person that lead brokers will try to convince you they are.

I find it of much more benefit to generate my own sales leads.  I do this in a few different ways, but I will discuss two of them in this presentation about sales leads.  I use a marketing system called Leadsomatic.  This is a brilliantly designed system to build backlinks for your url.  This is NOT a classified ad submission service.  This is primarily a link building tool.  The advantages of using this program can be magnified when you learn to use the system correctly.  This is where the Veretekk system comes heavily into play.  In this Veretekk system, where you can signup for free to use, you will learn the art of search engine optimization, search engine marketing and the real way that online businesses are built.  When you consider that most online programs are nothing more than smoke and mirrors, and are designed to separate you from your money quickly, you will be drawn to a true internet educational program that can empower you with all the tools, training and motivation to come full circle to the success that you desire.
